Collector Grading Guide

At NerdCoreVault, we specialise in collectibles where condition matters. This guide explains how we assess and describe item and packaging condition so you know exactly what to expect when ordering. 

Please note: unless otherwise stated, all items are considered standard retail stock, not individually graded collectibles. 

 

📦 What “Mint Condition” Means 

“Mint” refers to the condition of the product as received from the manufacturer. 

A mint item: 

  • Is factory sealed (if applicable)  

  • Has no visible damage to the figure or product itself  

  • May still have minor manufacturing imperfections on packaging  

Important: Minor box imperfections from the manufacturer are not considered damage. 

 

🟢 Mint (M) 

The highest standard we offer. 

  • Sealed or untouched item  

  • No visible defects to the product  

  • Packaging is in excellent condition  

  • May still include very minor shelf wear from distribution  

✔ Ideal for collectors who want the best available condition 

 

🔵 Near Mint (NM) 

Very high-quality condition with extremely minor imperfections. 

  • Item is fully intact and undamaged  

  • Packaging may show very light shelf wear  

  • Corners or edges may have minimal softening or creasing  

  • Still highly displayable and collectible  

✔ Great balance between condition and availability 

 

🟡 Very Good (VG) 

Good overall condition with visible but non-major wear. 

  • Item remains complete and functional  

  • Packaging may show noticeable wear or slight crushing  

  • Light creases, edge wear, or minor scuffs may be present  

✔ Suitable for display collectors who are less condition-sensitive 

 

🟠 Good (G) 

Heavily handled or visibly worn packaging. 

  • Item is complete but packaging shows significant wear  

  • Creases, dents, or box damage may be present  

  • May not be ideal for mint-box collectors  

✔ Best for open-display collectors 

 

🔴 Damaged Packaging (DP) 

Clear and significant packaging damage. 

  • Major box crushing, tearing, or structural damage  

  • Item inside is still intact unless otherwise stated  

  • Clearly listed only when damage is known or disclosed  

✔ Usually sold at discounted pricing where applicable 

 

⚠️ Important Collectors Notice 

Please understand the following before purchasing: 

  • We do not individually grade every item unless stated  

  • Packaging condition is influenced by manufacturers and distributors  

  • Minor imperfections are common in mass-produced collectibles  

  • We cannot guarantee “perfect box condition” unless specifically advertised as graded or sealed collector-grade stock  

 

📦 Shipping & Condition Disclaimer 

While we take great care in packaging (see our Shipping Policy), once items leave the manufacturer or distributor, we cannot control: 

  • Factory box quality  

  • Shelf wear during distribution  

  • Courier handling after dispatch  

We always aim to ship items in the best condition available at the time of fulfilment.
